The second annual Kali’s Cure Golf Outing was another great weekend and fundraiser! Once again, the festivities started off with a cocktail party Friday night for all of the participants. On Saturday morning, the golfers headed out after a slight rain delay. The weather cleared and it was a perfect day to golf. The scramble format created a competitive spirit for the teams. This year’s winning team was Frank Beckmann, Jeff Champine, and Aaron Hager!
During dinner, guests listened to several speakers. Denny O’Malley from Craig Hospital in Denver joined us to talk about SCI and various therapies and research currently being conducted. Sandy Burns from the Rehabilitation Institute of Michigan spoke about rehabilitation and working towards healing the body after an injury. Finally, Frank Beckmann was our keynote speaker and auctioneer! After a touching speech, Frank kept our guests entertained and participating in the auction. This year’s auction brought in $35,000, $10,000 more than last year!!! Thanks to all of your generous support, we were able to raise over $135,000!!!
